Come along on a 1-week tour in Morocco from Fes, where you’ll see many amazing places! You’ll visit Meknes, Volubilis, and the charming blue city of Chefchaouen. We’ll also check out the highlights of Rabat, Casablanca, and Marrakech. Get ready for breathtaking views of the High Atlas Mountains and the Tizi-N-Tichka Pass. We’ll visit the Kasbah of Ait-Ben-Haddou, the studios in Ouarzazate, and the Todra gorges.

Then, we’ll head to the Sahara desert of Merzouga, where you can ride camels, stay in a desert camp overnight, and watch magical sunsets and sunrises. Next, we’ll visit the Barbary macaque in the cedar forest and the Switzerland of Morocco, Ifrane. Finally, our tour ends back in Fes.

ITINERARY: 1 WEEK TOUR IN MOROCCO FROM FES

DAY 1 : FES – MEKNES – VOLUBILIS- RIF MOUNTAINS – CHEFCHAOUEN

After our driver picks you up from your location, We will head to Meknes, an imperial city with a rich history dating back to the Alawite dynasty. Explore the grand Babb el-Mansur gateway, the Sahrij Souani Basin, and the Moulay Ismail Mausoleum,, adorned with sumptuous decorations. After a satisfying lunch, continue your adventure to Volubilis, Morocco’s renowned Roman site dating from AD 24-285. Next on the itinerary is Moulay Idriss, a city built dramatically on the rocky spurs of the Khyber and Tazga hills. With buildings cascading down the slopes, this city holds great significance for pilgrims, hosting an annual religious festival in August. To conclude this exciting day, embark on a scenic drive through the Rif Mountains to reach Chefchaouen, the blue city, where you’ll spend the night.

DAY 2 : EXPLORE THE BLUE CITY OF CHEFCHOUAEN – RABAT

Today you will be free to explore the city’s enchantment. Explore the town’s maze-like streets, which are decked with mesmerizing tones of blue. Navigate the Medina’s winding alleys, where each corner reveals a new magnificent scene. Immerse yourself in the vivid ambiance of the busy souks (markets), which showcase the workmanship of local artisans and provide one-of-a-kind treasures Alternatively, unwind at a charming cafe or restaurant while indulging in authentic Moroccan cuisine that will tantalize your taste buds with delectable treats. Afterward, we head to Rabat, Morocco’s capital, and discover cultural treasures such as Hassan tower and the Oudayas Kasbah. As the day ends, we will drop you off at your accommodation in Rabat.

 DAY 3: RABAT – CASABLANCA – MARRAKECH

 After breakfast in Rabat, we depart for Casablanca, the drive will be along the Atlantic coast. As we traverse this scenic path, we’ll be treated to breathtaking views of the ocean, with waves crashing against the rugged shoreline and seabirds soaring overhead. Upon reaching Casablanca, we’ll delve into the vibrant energy of Morocco’s largest city, renowned for its cosmopolitan atmosphere and iconic landmarks. Our first stop will be the majestic Hassan II Mosque, a masterpiece of Islamic architecture that stands proudly along the waterfront, its towering minaret reaching towards the sky. Afterward, we drive to Marrakech, The vibrant colors, bustling medinas, and lively atmosphere of Marrakech will enchant us as we arrive. Check into our accommodation and enjoy a relaxing evening, perhaps strolling through the lively streets of the medina or savoring a traditional Moroccan dinner in a local restaurant.

DAY 4: GUIDED TOUR IN MARRAKECH WITH LOCAL GUIDE:

After breakfast, explore Marrakech, the “Red City of Morocco,” with a local guide. Your guide will lead you to various sites of historical and cultural significance, such as the renowned Jemaa El Fna square, the Koutoubia Mosque, and the Saadian tombs. In the afternoon, visit the Majorelle Gardens and take a brief tour of the new city of Marrakech, including the Koutoubia tower. Finally, take you to your accommodation. You will be free to wander Jemaa El-Fna on your own.

DAY 5: MARRAKECH – HIGH ATLAS MOUNTAINS – KASBAH OF AIT BEN HADDOU – DADAES GORGES

We’ll pick you up from where you’re staying and drive through the stunning Atlas Mountains. We’ll stop at the Tizi nTichka pass, which is really high up (2260m). on the way we may stop at local cooperatives where they make Argan oil. Then we’ll go to the famous Ait Ben Haddou Kasbah, a fortified town recognized as a UNESCO World Heritage Location. This notable Kasbah has been filmed in various movies and TV series, such as Combatant, Alexander, The Mummy, and Diversion of Positions of authority. After investigating this famous kasbah, I went to Ouarzazate for lunch at a really good restaurant. We’ll also visit Atlas Studios, where many famous movies were filmed, like Game of Thrones and Prison Break. Then we’ll finish the day at the Dades Gorges, where we’ll stay overnight.

 DAY 6: DADES VALLEY – TODRA GORGES – MERZOUGA DESERT – CAMEL TREKKING – OVERNGHT DESERT CAMP

After breakfast, we’ll drive through the Dades Valley, pausing at a scenic spot with a breathtaking view of the Dades Gorges. Then, we’ll journey onward to the Todra Gorges, where the Todra River has sculpted a majestic canyon through the mountains, creating towering red cliffs. You’ll have the opportunity to explore the gorges and marvel at the natural beauty of the landscape. Continuing our drive, we’ll pass through the lush palm groves of Touroug and Tinjdad, with free time for lunch along the way. In the afternoon, we’ll arrive at the Sahara desert of Merzouga. You’ll prepare for an incredible camel ride into the heart of the dunes to view the breathtaking sunset. When you arrive at the camp, you’ll be greeted with mint tea before settling into your comfy tents with ensuite bathroom and shower as the Sahara presents its stunning evening hues. Dinner is ready, and as you eat, a musical performance by the group around the fire adds to the allure of the starry Sahara night.

DAY 7: MERZOUGA – RISSANI – ARFOUD – ZIZ VALLEY – MIDDLE ATLAS MOUNTAINS – FES

Today, make sure to wake up early to witness the breathtaking sunrise, as the dunes come alive with a mesmerizing display of colors and shadows, so you will not miss an awe-inspiring spectacle. After breakfast, you will ride your camel back to Merzouga, meet your driver and head back to Fes. Along the way, we will stop at Rissani’s bustling traditional market. If you visit on a market day—Sundays, Tuesdays, or Thursdays—you’ll be greeted by a vibrant display of colors, fragrances, and sounds as you stroll through its bustling streets. Afterward, we drive to Arfoud, where you’ll have the opportunity to visit a workshop showcasing fossilized marble. The journey continues through the picturesque palm groves of Ziz Valley and the middle Atlas Mountains. We will have a stop in  Azrou’s cedar grove, which is home to some playful monkeys, and Ifrane, often referred to as Morocco’s Switzerland, where you can take magnificent images and observe the town’s splendor. Drop you off at your accommodation in Fes.
