ITINERARY: 2 DAYS DESERT TOUR FROM OUARZAZATE TO FES

DAY 1: OURZAZATE – DADES VALLEY – TOUDGHHA GORGES-  TINJDAD – MERZOUGA

We’ll pick you up early in the morning from your place or the airport in Ouarzazate. First, we’ll explore Ouarzazate city, visiting Atlas Studio, where famous movies were made, and Taourirt Kasbah. 

Then, we’ll drive southeast to see Amridil Kasbah, surrounded by palm trees in Skoura. Next, we’ll visit Rose Valley, known for its Rose Festival in May, where locals sell rose products like perfumes and oils.

 After that, we’ll drive through Dades Valley, stopping to admire the stunning Dades gorges. Then, we’ll head to Todra Gorges, a beautiful canyon formed by the Todra River. 

You’ll have free time for lunch and to explore the gorges. In the afternoon, we’ll reach the Sahara desert in Merzouga, where you’ll ride camels across the sandy desert and watch a magical sunset. 

Later, enjoy Berber drum music, dance around a campfire under the starry sky, have dinner and stay overnight at the desert luxury camp.

DAY 2: MERZOUGA – RISSANI – ARFOUD – ZIZ VALLEY – AZROU – IFRANE – FES

Today, make sure to wake up early to witness the breathtaking sunrise, as the dunes come alive with a mesmerizing display of colors and shadows, so you will not miss an awe-inspiring spectacle. 

After breakfast, you will ride your camel back to Merzouga, meet your driver and head to Fes. Along the way, we will stop at Rissani’s bustling traditional market. 

If you visit on a market day—Sundays, Tuesdays, or Thursdays—you’ll be greeted by a vibrant display of colors, fragrances, and sounds as you stroll through its bustling streets. 

Afterward, we drive to Arfoud, where you’ll have the opportunity to visit a workshop showcasing fossilized marble. The journey continues through the picturesque palm groves of Ziz Valley and the middle Atlas Mountains. 

We will have to stop by Azrou’s cedar grove, which is home to some playful monkeys. Then drive to Ifrane, often referred to as Morocco’s Switzerland, where you can take magnificent images and observe the town’s splendor. Drop you off t your accommodation in Fes.
