Day 1: Tangier to Chefchaouen via Tetouan
Our journey of Best Morocco Itinerary 8 days begins with a scenic drive through the Rif Mountains and a stop at the city of Tetouan. We’ll take a break and savor the stunning views of the landscape at the feet of the Rif Mountains in Chefchaouen. This town boasts a Spanish-influenced medina with vibrant artisanal shops and rooftop cafes and restaurants. Spend the rest of the evening enjoying a nice breeze and breathtaking view from the comfort of a Riad.
Day 2: Chefchaouen to Fes via Volubilis and Meknes
After a delicious breakfast, we’ll head to Volubilis to explore the Roman ruins and learn about Moroccan history. We’ll continue our journey to Meknes, where we’ll have lunch and visit the historical walls of the medina, Bab el Mansour, and the Moulay Ismail shrine. Later, we’ll head to Fes for the night.
Day 3: Discovering Fes
We’ll start the day by exploring the oldest city in Morocco, Fes, as we navigate its winding alleys and narrow streets. We’ll visit the Royal Palace gate and the Jewish quarter, home to the first Mellah ever built in Morocco in the 16th century. You’ll visit cultural and historical sites such as Al Qaraouine University, the oldest in the region, the Tanneries, the Attarine Museum, and the Moulay Idriss Mausoleum. After lunch, you’ll tour various cooperatives and enjoy a panoramic view of the entire Medina of Fes.
Day 4: Fes to Merzouga via Ifrane, Midelt, and Erfoud
Today we’ll head towards the Atlas Mountains, stopping to visit the village of Ifrane and the famous Cedar Forest, home to Berber apes. We’ll continue through the Tiz Ntalghamt Mountain Pass and Ziz Gorge, where we’ll take a break for pictures and some local mint tea, to Midelt. From there, we’ll continue on to Merzouga, where we’ll spend the night at our campsite.
Day 5: Merzouga to Dades Gorge via Todra Gorge
on the fifth day of the Best Morocco Itinerary 8 days, After waking up, we’ll head to a local hotel for a chance to freshen up and enjoy a complimentary breakfast. Then we’ll visit Berber villages and the Todra and Dades Gorge on our way to Ouarzazate. We’ll spend the night at a local hotel in Dades Gorge.
Day 6: Dades Valley to Marrakesh via Rose Valley and Ouarzazate
Today, we’ll continue our tour towards Ouarzazate, stopping at the center of the Valley of Roses, Kalaat Mgouna, famous for its annual Rose Festival. We’ll also drive through Ait Ben Haddou, a UNESCO World Heritage site, on the way.
Day 7: Guided Tour of Marrakech
You’ll have a guided tour of Marrakesh today, visiting main attractions such as the famous Jamma el Fna square, Koutoubia Mosque, souks, palaces, museums, and other parts of the city like Gueliz, the Menara Gardens, and Majorelle.
Day 8: Transfer to the Airport
Today, you’ll be punctually transferred to the airport for your return trip.
